Check out Dan Black‘s performance of Symphonies on the New Now Next awards last week. I’m loving that he is getting some well deserved mainstream attention! Go Dan!

A few weeks about Kelis & Robyn announced via Twitter that they were hitting the road together this Summer for the All Hearts Tour. When I heard this I jumped for joy as they are two of my favorite artists, then when I heard from the label that Dan Black would also be joining them I jumped even higher!  This tour Spin Magazine’s top 25 must see tours for this Summer (and for good reason! Dan + Kelis are incredible live and I’m quite sure Robyn is also!) Mr. Black will also be teaming up with Dragonette (another great act) and hitting Lollapalooza -- go check him out!

Symphonies (Live at SXSW)

When last week I confirmed the rumor that Kylie Minogue would be making a surprise appearance at Splash Bar NYC on Friday night, I quickly railed some friends and made plans to head down to see her. I had no idea what she would be doing, just introducing the All The Lovers video or performing the track. So when she performed All The Lovers I was more than happy, then after some discussion with her team she decided to do a megamix of songs (for the first time ever) from the upcoming album Aphrodite, due for U.S. release July 6th on Astralwerks.  Tracks she included were Get Outta My Way, Cupid Boy, Aphrodite, Too Much & Put Your Hands Up. Needless to say we got much more than we bargained for and she wow’ed us all with these songs! They are just incredible and I truly feel that Aphrodite is shaping up to be one of her greatest records yet, I look forward to it dominating my summer!

All The Lovers

Take it from me this is one show that you do not want to miss! I had the pleasure of seeing Dan Black’s debut performance here in NYC late last year at CMJ  and High Rise PR hosted event at Norwood. Dan played just a few songs but he left me thirsty for more… I can’t wait to see him  do a full set! He’s heading over to the West Coast to play a few dates in June and if you’re over that side you definitely need to go check him out.  Stay tuned for news on more Dan Black dates coming soon!
