Adele Accused of Plagiarism By Turkish Musician Ahmet Kaya

Ever since the media-frenzied lawsuit of “Blurred Lines”, top pop stars are being hit with various plagiarism accusations – most recently Taylor Swift was accused of stealing “Shake it Off” and now Adele is being accused in a similar style.

The UK-hitmaker is being accused by Ahmet Kaya’s fanbase for ripping off the Kurdish-Turkish singer’s 1985 song “Acilara Tutunmak (Clinging to Pain)”.  Fans claim that Adele’s track “Million Years Ago” from her new 25 album has blatant similarities to Kaya’s single.

While many of these cases don’t progress due to lack of a case and proper representation, it’s interesting for listeners to hear the contrasting tracks and decide for themselves. Judge for yourself by listening to Kaya’s and Adele’s tracks below.

janet-jackson-2009-mary-ellen-matthews-billboard-650

Last year, it was rumored that Janet Jackson was working on a new album but she shut down any and all speculation by writing on Twitter, “If there is a new project, you’ll hear it from my lips.” Well, Ms. Jackson kept her promise and her mouth shut … until this past weekend, when she surprised her fans and announced, early Saturday morning (on her 49th birthday) by tweeting a link to a video of her voice …

“I promised you’d hear it from my lips and now you will. This year: new music; new world tour; a new movement. I’ve been listening. Let’s keep the conversation going.” She also included the Twitter hashtag, “#ConversationsInACafe” which is supposedly the title of her new full length.

Jackson’s last studio album, Discipline, was released back in 2008 on Island Records followed by the Number Ones collection a year later.

Listen to Janet’s message!
