CAMILLE BACKER – NEW MEDIA DIRECTOR
Camille was born 25 years ago in London, England, she grew up listening to a strange mix of music from Motown Classics to the Stock, Aitken and Waterman pop of the 80′s and Brit Pop of the 90′s (Hello Spice Girls!) In college her musical tastes developed to encompass genres such as electro, indie and nu-soul, rather than being composed of just straight up pop. It was at this point that her passion for music increased and she began to be a big fan of going to concerts to see her favorite acts play live and discovering new artists.
After moving to Florida and studying for her Masters in Advertising and Public Relations, at the end of her first year the opportunity to intern over the summer in New York City at PRO MOTION arose. After falling in love with the city and enjoying working at PRO MOTION, Camille was thrilled to move back less than a year later and rejoin PRO MOTION as New Media Director.
PETER NELSON – REMIX AND PRODUCTION DIRECTOR
Peter Nelson is a 24 year old multi-talented prodigy from Long Island,NY with an incredible love for music and the entertainment industry. raised by mixed-race parents Peter grew up with the best of both worlds with his mother being of Italian and Irish background, and father of African American decent, you know that household was crazy. Pete’s love for music began as a young boy when he would be awaken every Sunday morning to the smell of grits and eggs cooking and sounds of Sugar Hill Gang, Earth Wind and Fire, or the Motown classics played in the background by his father.
The last two years of high school Pete attended BOCES Tech Center to pursue his culinary career but still had music on his mind. He then attended college upstate and went to culinary school for another 2 years. During his college experience Pete met some friends in the dorms who were involved in music and began to learn about music producing and recording. After graduating college Pete decided to pursue a career in the music industry. In 2005 He was hired as an Intern for the largest and most successful independent dance/pop music marketing firm in the world. Pete is presently the managing director of remix and production for PRO MOTION the Brad LeBeau company, Inc.
MATT BELANGER – CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Matt Belanger was born in the woods of New Hampshire on a particularly hot, mid-September Indian summer day. Parents Dennis and Sheila raised the littleist Belanger well through the years, forever blasting the likes of Taylor Dayne, Madonna and Paula Abdul at home and on car trips. And born the same year of Madonna’s Into The Groove, Matt’s parents considered that a sign of great things to come for their little Matthew. Never one to complain about their music choices, he had his own copies of his favorite cassettes and managed to ruin each one from too much listening.
During his junior high and high school years Matt could always be found hanging out in the band room, playing any instrument he could get his hands on. And, after school, Matt helped run his parents store, The 18th Century Shop/Early American Floorcloths. In his late teens, Matt escaped small town life and set off to New York City to continue his formal education and his first music business internship at Blackheart Records, where he was affectionately dubbed “Joan Jett’s Bitch.”
In August of 2006, Matt answered a PRO MOTION ad and has since become the company’s Creative Director. Matt’s favorite music is all things 80′s and early 90′s, and present day European electronica. He lives in Tribeca with his overweight, black cat, Diego, who double as his personal assistant and maid.
JORGE SANTOS – MANAGING DIRECTOR OF PROMOTION REVOLUCION
A native of San Juan Puerto Rico, Jorge Santos and familia moved to Southern California when he was 8 years old. Always involved in rhythm, Jorge would participate in school dance performances and music showcases at his local high school he was also part of the Varsity swimming team for 4 yrs. Jorge graduated from high school in Long Beach and then relocated to Brooklyn, New York where he attended his first hip hop dance class. An inordinately quick study, within two months Santos ability landed him his first major job as a back up dancer for Christina Aguilera’s 2000 tour, followed by regional / national gigs with Beyonce, George Michael, Paulina Rubio, Ashanti and Ricky Martin. While dancing with other artists Jorge was also doing dance work shops for such clients as Addidas and NIKE, which gave him a chance to travel around the world. While living in California, Jorge taught his own Hip Hop Dance class at Millennium Dance Complex. With this class Jorge was able to teach students of many different age groups and was given a chance to travel to different cities to teach major workshops.
Always interested in the day to day mechanics of the music business, after dancing in TV commercials for eBay and Dr. Pepper, Jorge joined The Brad LeBeau Company in 2005. As Managing Director of PRO MOTION Revolucion, Santos is responsible for the company’s Latin music (club, radio and online marketing) division.
MAXINE SQUIRES – EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
Maxine was born and raised in Western Massachusetts, where she was surrounded by music from an early age. She loved playing records on her Big Bird record player and as she grew up, her parents took her to many symphony concerts. In the fourth grade, Maxine started playing the violin and in the seventh grade, she discovered No Doubt (now her all time favorite band), both events which led her to want to eventually work in the music industry.
In high school, Maxine began interning, and soon working, for MIX 93.1 and KIX 97.9, both in Springfield, MA. Shortly after, Maxine was off to Syracuse University to study Communications & Rhetorical Studies and Music Industry. During her time at Syracuse, Maxine became involved in Z89, the student radio station, where she and some friends had a rock mix show every Sunday night, as well as the University Union Concert Board, where she was involved in all backstage aspects of putting on both small and large scale concerts.
After graduating in 2007, Maxine moved to Blacksburg, Virginia to pursue her other passion- Jewish non-profit. While her experience down there was incredible, Maxine realized that she needed to get back to the Northeast and get back into doing music. After many months of job hunting, Maxine is happy to be the newest member of the PRO MOTION team, serving as Executive Assistant
BRAD LEBEAU – FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT
Born in Queens and raised in Manhattan, as a child LeBeau grew up immersed in music, favoring the sweet sounds of 60′s and 70′s ‘soul’ played on New York’s legendary RandB radio stations. The precursor to contemporary dance music, his musical tastes soon expanded into “disco” and “new wave” while a pre-med student at Brandeis University. In 1979, Brad became a club DJ in Boston and then New York. to earn some extra cash.
Beginning the Summer of 1976, LeBeau’s engaging personality and vast knowledge of rhythm records helped usher him into the upper echelons of New York night life and before long he manned the turntables at legendary Manhattan hot spots’ Studio 54 and Xenon – living “the life” to the fullest.
In ’82, Brad decided to seek a career beyond the velvet ropes, working with a small, independent dance promotion company pitching remixed 12″ records. Before long Brad was inspired to launch his own, bi-coastal marketing firm, PRO MOTION, on July 5, 1983. His international tastes and relentless dedication to the music have helped make PRO MOTION the oldest, largest, and most successful independent dance/pop music marketing firm in the United States. Having played an essential role in the careers of thousands of artists – Madonna, George Michael, Jennifer Lopez, Cher, Enrique Iglesias, Celine Dion, Sade, Shakira etc – LeBeau is most concerned with the acceptance of dance music as an integral thread in the overall musical fabric of pop music culture.
